Annual Meeting

Reconnect at the House and online during our meeting on Reunion Weekend. The board will share Association and Society updates, hold elections, and host an open house. (Join us at 8:30 am for coffee, tea and a light breakfast selection.)

The Zoom will include a live stream of the Annual Meeting at the House, and will allow virtual attendees to vote on meeting matters. The Zoom will be hosted by remote members of the Board.

Elections 

At our annual meeting, we will hold elections. We are particularly in need of a Householder, as this role has been vacant for almost two years. Julie Brown is also up for re-election as Alumnae Board Secretary. 

Descriptions of each role are listed below. If you have questions or would like to submit a nomination, contact us at wellesleyshakesalums@gmail.com. Nominations (include name and class, location, and contact info) and a statement of intent (i.e., why you want to join the Board, your objectives for the position, and the contributions you plan to make) are due on May 17, 2025, and will be posted on the website prior to the Annual Meeting. Remote voting will be offered. 

Householder 

The Householder is responsible for the care and preservation of our House. The Householder shall: 

• Live near Wellesley College and have graduated five or more years ago 

• Liaise with the undergraduate Householder to open and close the house each semester

• Communicate with college maintenance and Facilities to report outstanding issues 

• Keep the Board informed of all new and ongoing House-related issues

Secretary

The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the Annual Business Meeting, and shall: 

• Live near Wellesley College and have graduated five or more years ago 

• Attend and take notes at Executive Board meetings

• Serve as additional liaison for WCSS and WCSSAA with Wellesley College office

Anniversary Planning

As we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary, we are planning some special events and initiatives and we welcome your input and skills!  If you are interested in volunteering for fundraising initiatives, project management, or creative endeavors, please reach out to wellesleyshakesalums@gmail.com and let us know how you would like to help
